Message took care of the Z is another question. Check [ http://autotrader.com ] for Z's and be ready to travel 2 to 3 hours driving one way to find a car. This will yield more potential cars for sale. I looked at a Z for $3200 last summer, engine ran ok, but it had been rear ended and the shop did a louy job on the repair.

Order a Carfax.com and check vehicle history before buying.
Also, use the member directory to find other Z owners in New Jersey, they can point you toward deals they know about and give advice about local shops for maintenance as well.

With your budget an NA is a good choice, you'll be hard pressed to find a TT with $4k. Take your time and shop around before committing. This time of the year you'll find sportcars for sale with anxious owners who may negociate and accept a lower price.
